Listening Session at Ōishi Shrine
At the end of one-week residency Agnė composed a sound piece from recorded sounds collected during the soundwalks around Fujino. Playing with different sounds from environment and buildings as instruments, Agnes’ composition allows to hear Fujino in a new, different way.
This listening session was enriched with durational movement performance which analyses the body aspects in the space by choreographer Pavel Sakowicz.
The piece, Sayonakidori was presented at Ōishi Shrine. In the past Ōishi Shrine was used for kabuki and bunroku performances and to this day has functioning rotating stage construction operated manually under the flooring .
The composition was made to listen while walking around the grounds of the shrine with wireless headphones, allowing immersive experience.
Specific sounds from kabuki, recorded in Fujino during mura kabuki practice also heard in music composition.
