Ugnė Tamuliūnaitė and Elvita Brazdylytė are
Lithuanian scenographers, costume designers and collaborative artists working across contemporary theatre, installation and expanded scenographic practices. Their work combines scenography, moving image, textiles, sound and performative practices, exploring the relationship between space, body and audience.
Together they are developing the ongoing project Would You Mind Being Around Me While I Work on This, conceived as a trilogy created across different cultural contexts.

Proposal

Would You Mind Being Around Me While I Work on This
is an ongoing collaborative project by scenographers Ugnė Tamuliūnaitė and Elvita Brazdylytė, bringing together contemporary theatre, scenography, installation and performance.

During their residency at MiSHŌ, the artists will conduct artistic research for the third chapter of the project, exploring how living in an environment shaped by natural instability influences attention, coexistence and the perception of space.
Through site observation, conversations, sound recording, photography and video documentation,
they will gather material that will form the foundation of a future performative installation, developed in a later creative stage in collaboration with a performer.

The residency will also provide an opportunity for
Ugnė and Elvita to exchange artistic practices with fellow residents, present their previous work, and establish long-term international collaborations.
They are particularly interested in the cultural and architectural context of Fujino, and in learning how its relationship with landscape, temporality, and adaptation can inform their artistic practice.

Mathieu Santori

Mathieu Santori (b. 1994, Ajaccio, France) lives and works in Paris. His drawing practice spans Japanese paper, wallpaper, wood, and three-dimensional works.

Eroticism runs through the artist’s work, embodied in his gestures, forms, colours and subjects, revealing the sensuality of the technique. The delicacy of his line creates a tension with the strangeness of the scenes. The artist immerses us in an ambiguous feeling, somewhere between seduction and repulsion.

His three-dimensional work takes the form of objects and boxes. These objects of desire play on the notion of the forbidden. Wallpaper, a recurring medium in his practice, suggests both the domestic interior and the inner mind. Dreams, memories, reality, and fantasies become one.

Graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2026. He won the Contemporary Drawing Prize (2024)
and the Amis des Beaux-Arts de Paris Prize (2026).
His first solo exhibition took place at Galerie Suzanne Tarasiève, Paris (2025). His work has been held in selected group shows at Crush, Paris (2026), Drawing now, Paris (2025),
Galerie Michel Rein, Paris (2025).
His work is included in an institutional collection, Les Beaux-Arts de Paris Collection, Paris.

During the MiSHŌ residency, Mathieu would like to explore the surrounding area, observe the local flora and fauna outdoors, and take photographs as sources of inspiration and models for drawings.
Once fully inspired, he intends to work in the studio to create a piece for an upcoming exhibition in Antwerp, Belgium.

Fabiana Moch

Fabiana Moch is a Mexican illustrator based in Veracruz whose works spring from a deep love of storytelling
and character design.
With a background in visual arts, she now works as a freelance illustrator, drawing inspiration from nature and everyday life, always keeping an eye out for the stories that hide under our noses.  Devoted to tenderness, she strives to reflect that gentle quality in every piece she creates.

“Herbarium”

The Imagined Herbarium of Fujino is an illustration project to explore the plants of Fujino through a poetic and playful lens. The project aims to transform local flora into intimate habitats for small, invented animal and fantastical characters. Each plant becomes a world of its own, a tiny place of shelter or rest where an imagined creature might live quietly within the forest. The project begins with walks through Fujino’s natural surroundings, gathering drawings, notes, and photographs to form a direct connection with the land.

Alongside this exploration, Fabiana Moch would like to engage with the community through conversation, inviting residents to share their favorite plants, memories tied to nature, and the stories they carry about the landscape. These exchanges, along with their drawings or descriptions, become the seeds for short, poetic micro-stories that accompany each illustrated herbarium entry.

MiSHŌ Residency 05
(May 2026)

Georgia Mulholland

Vikram Arora

「Carbon Bloom」
